Escaping a heat wave in Northern New Brunswick
Restigouche area
A heat wave has hit us, just as we are switching back to camping. We spent a long day driving to the border of New Brunswick. The fleuves, I mean rivers, here are wide and clear. We found respite from the heat wave in Tide Head. It's a perfect temperature and not too crowded. We paddled around and swam, cooling off in this heat wave nicely. We also saw a Google Street View car, but it's possible the driver was just pulling over to jump in the river himself or we may be on the Tide Head street view.
Elsa would like to do some guest blogging:

Oh, ha ha, what a little scamp. She is having a great time. She hasn't mooned over her "Toe beans" photo album that much.
V'al Comeaux
We found a campsite along the Gulf of St. Lawrence. It feels like a seaside getaway. We have built sand castles on the beach and watched the sunset. The campground is full of flapping Acadian flags. We can't look up what the whole 'Acadian' thing is, Elsa looked at her flashcards on her phone from Social Studies. It said "Francophone citizen of Acadia". Real helpful! I'll have to check what her marks were in that class.
The Acadians are a fun loving bunch anyway, they had an open air bingo that involved people getting up and dancing on stage whilst the crowd cheered and whistled. I didn't think we should go too close, lest they forced us to do a dance. There were also fireworks being set off on the beaches. Josh had a birds eye view of them after they woke him up.
Soon we pick up a new arrival - Charlie! He's going to join our band - "The Complainers". Elsa and I will be relegated to background artists for sure. He is the Ultimate Complainer - he travels with his own spotlight and loud instruments.
